How do I decide the right wardrobe width?
As a rough guide, allow 60cm of width per person for a basic wardrobe and 90cm or more for someone with a substantial clothing collection. Measuring your existing wardrobe contents before designing the new one is more reliable than estimating.
Is a walk-in wardrobe worth the space it takes?
Only if you can genuinely spare a small room or a very large bedroom corner — a poorly sized walk-in can end up less functional than a well-designed built-in wardrobe in the same square footage.
What finish holds up best over time?
Laminate finishes are generally the most practical for a wardrobe exterior, offering good scratch resistance at a reasonable cost. Acrylic and PU look more premium but show fingerprints and minor scratches more visibly.
Should the wardrobe match the room's other furniture exactly?
It should coordinate, not necessarily match precisely — a wardrobe in a complementary tone or finish to the bed and other furniture reads as designed, while an exact match across every piece can feel flat.
